Although it may seem like Ripping a movie to the computer is a difficult task but the fact is, it’s a very easy job to do so. There are lots of tools and software that can easily do this job for you. We are going to give you a tutorial about how to Rip/Copy a DVD on Windows using a tool called Handbrake. This tool is very user friendly and easy to operate. Here is the step-by-step procedure on how to rip the DVD’s to your Window PC.

  1. Download the Handbrake software from its official site. There are two version of this software available for you, a 32-bit version and a 64-bit version. Choose the specific version of Handbrake DVD ripper according to the version of Windows that you are using.

  2. After you are done with download and installation process, launch the Handbrake program and click on the button with the label “Source”. You will see a list of drives on the pop-up screen; select the DVD drive from which you want to rip the data to your PC. It will take some time to scan your DVD, so just relax and let it do what it is doing.

  3. When the scanning process is complete, click on the “Title” drop-down menu which is located on the upper left corner of the window. From here select the part of the DVD that you want to rip into your computer. You can rip the whole DVD at once or just select random parts of your choice. Just for a tip, if you want to select a movie to rip, it will be the one with the longest duration and if you want to copy some episodes of your favorite TV show look for the parts with smaller duration and of course you’ll have to rip them separately by selecting individual episodes.

  4. After this click on the Browse button which is located at the right side of the screen. Choose the location where you want to save your output file, type in the file name for your output ripped file and then press OK button.

  5. Now go the bar with title “Presets”. You will see a list of options about the output format of the DVD. For playing the ripped DVD on your computer, the Normal format is good, but if your intentions are to play the output file on other devices like iPhone or any other video playing device, be specific about the output format.

  6. Click on the Start button at the top of the screen and the DVD will start ripping to your PC. This process will take some time so sit back and have some snacks in the meantime.

  7. When the ripping process is complete, a pop-up window will appear saying that your DVD ripping process is successfully completed. Now you can enjoy your movies and other stuff on your Windows PC.
